Psychiatry Res Neuroimaging. 2023 Oct<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In oktober is dit review artikel verschenen over neurofeedback bij ADHD. In een review artikel worden aan de hand van strikte regels (de zogenaamde PRISMA-rules) wetenschappelijke publicaties ge\u00ebvalueerd over de effectiviteit van neurofeedback bij ADHD.<\/p>\n<p>De onderzoekers keken alleen naar recente artikelen, van 2017 tot 2022. Uiteindelijk bleven 18 artikelen over die aan de PRISMA regels voldeden.<\/p>\n<p>Een aantal verschillende neurofeedbackthecnieken worden met elkaar en met de gebruikelijke behandeling (medicatie) vergeleken. De meest gebruikte techniek, de zogenaamde Theta\/beta ratio (TBR) training, komt er positief uit. Van de 8 beoordeelde artikelen laten er 6 significante verbeteringen zien. Neurofeedback scoort daarbij zeker niet slechter dan medicatie \u2013 zonder de gebruikelijke bijwerkingen!<\/p>\n<p>De andere beoordeelde neurofeedbacktechnieken lijken minder overtuigend.<\/p>\n<p>De conclusie van de onderzoekers is enigzins voorzichtig. Door de verschillen tussen de onderzoeken op een aantal belangrijke variabelen is het namelijk moeilijk vergelijken en is ook statisch toesten (zoals bij een meta-analyse) niet mogelijk.<\/p>\n<p>De onderzoekers wijzen er ook op dat \u2018personalized\u2019 neurofeedback, op basis van een vooraf gemaakte hersenscan (qEEG) nog effectiever is.
